My wife and I have purchased meals from the Desi Basket Cafe several times, and enjoyed it every time. We try to learn (and enjoy) south Asian foods in Belleville (and elsewhere) and the Desi Cafe staff is very helpful. The foods there are very tasteful and good quality, and fairly priced. You don't need a big/fancy place! The atmosphere of the cafe is pleasing, the background music is a nice touch! We certainly look forward to trying more of their food selections!

Visited Desi Cafe in Belleville and was genuinely impressed. Ordered the Cheese Butter Masala with tawa roti, and the flavors were spot on rich, creamy, and truly authentic without being overly heavy. You can tell the food isn’t toned down for convenience; it actually tastes desi. I also tried the noodles samosa with schezwan chutney, which was a standout item. The samosa was crispy and well-filled, and the schezwan chutney added a bold, spicy kick that worked surprisingly well. The Gujarati samosa was equally good, fresh and flavorful, not greasy. For sweets, the kaju katli deserves a special mention perfect texture, balanced sweetness, and clearly made with quality cashews. What really adds to the experience is the ambience. The café is clean, well-lit, and has a very welcoming vibe. Unlike many desi spots that feel cramped, Desi Cafe has a large seating capacity, making it comfortable even if you’re visiting with family or a group. The seating arrangement is spacious and practical, which makes it a good place to actually sit, eat, and enjoy rather than rush out. Overall, this place feels like a hidden gem in Belleville for authentic Indian food and sweets. The combination of genuine flavors, variety, and a comfortable ambience makes it worth coming back. Definitely a solid option if you’re craving proper desi food in the area.
